Obituary

Carolyn Sue Pearson passed away on March 28, 2026, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 22, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Woodrow "Wilson" Pearson and Gladys Johnson Pearson.

Carolyn dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a medical technician with BJC Hospitals in St. Louis. She worked primarily on the pediatric floors and in the emergency department. Though the work was often demanding, it was deeply fulfilling, and she took great pride in caring for those in need. She later retired from BJC Hospital after a long and meaningful career.

She was a resilient woman, always positive even on her toughest days. Carolyn was kind, generous, and willing to help anyone. She loved being a hostess, and her home was where family gathered for holidays and special occasions. She also had a heart for those in need and often welcomed people who had nowhere else to go.

Carolyn enjoyed cooking, gardening, and dearly loved her puppy dogs.

She is survived by one son, James K. (Sara) Waldo; three daughters, Kelli Waldo, Kristi (Scott) Gard, and Kaci (Chris) Dixon; one brother, David (Diane) Pearson; one sister, Ginger (Tony) Stricklin; five grandchildren, Jamie (Jerry) Stanley, Adam Wittke, Matthew Pflanz, Brandon Beckerle, and Brandon Dixon; three great-grandchildren, Jermaine Stanley Jr., Jamison Stanley, and Abel Beckerle; and also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow "Woody" Pearson Jr. and a dear friend Cecelia "Butch" Earhart.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri.

Pallbearers are Brandon Berckerle, Chris Dixon, Scott Gard, Matthew Pflanz, Jerry Stanley, and Adam Wittke.
