Carolyn Barnes Looney, age 84, passed away January 17, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born in Peoria, Illinois on April 16, 1937 to the late Donald and Juanita (Patterson) Barnes.

She married Bill Looney in 1957 and relocated to Sikeston in the mid 1960's with Bill and their three small children. She was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. One of the highlights of her life was her daily talks and time spent with her best friend, Joann Ruby.

She was mother to six children. Richard (Cody) Looney, Rachel Ritter, Alberta (Steve) Penrod, Patricia Looney, Christina (Dewayne) Hawkins, and Elizabeth (Andy) Fiehler.

She was a doting grandmother to eight grandchildren. Rebecca (Kevin) Tinnin, Cullen Looney, Justin (Katie) Looney, Brittany Ritch, Amanda Humphries, Logan (Heather) Hawkins, Kylie Ritter, Landon Hawkins.  She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Addisyn Looney, Londyn Humphries, Maci Tinnin, Carson Beck, Chloe Beck, Remi Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one great-grandchild, Kamryn Johnson; and Ms. Ruby.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
