Carol Lee Evans, age 77 of East Prairie, MO, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, MO.  She was born December 31, 1946, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Riley "Slim" High and Opal Lee Bonta High.  Carol was a long-term care licensed practical nurse, retiring following nineteen years of service for Beverly Healthcare in New Madrid, MO. While employed there, she was recognized as associate of the year, an accomplishment she was very proud of.  Carol also loved cake baking.  One of her happiest memories was attending the St. Louis Cardinals opening day in 2016, along with her husband and their children.  She was a member of St. James General Baptist Church of East Prairie.

On February 27, 1965, she married Jimmy Evans, who preceded her in death March 18, 2017.

Survivors include two sons, James Stephens (Deann) of Sikeston, MO and Robert Evans (Jamie) also of Sikeston, MO; one daughter, Kelly Henry of East Prairie, MO; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a very special aunt who was like a sister to her, Paulette Daehn of St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO, with Bro. Stanley Triplett officiating.

Interment will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO at 1 p.m.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dylan Stephens, Carson Helms, Tyleigh Powers, Madison Powers, Reagen Evens, and Haylee Evans.
