Obituary

C. Kenny Summers, age 81, passed away August 9, 2023 at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

Kenny was born July 23, 1942 in Dresden, Tennessee, son of the late Clarence Gilbert Summers and Lela Alpine Sexton-Summers.

He and Betty Jean Winchester were married in 1960 and they moved to Sikeston in 1968.

Kenny was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and had worked for several manufactured mobile home dealers by delivering and setting up homes. He opened Kenny's Mobile Home Service in 1980.

He was a practical joker. He was a Jack of all trades and master of none.  There wasn't much he couldn't fix.  He loved tinkering in his shop or on his trucks and he loved being around his family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Summers of Sikeston, Missouri; three daughters, Tina (Tommy) McGhee of Halls, Tennessee, Shelia Lofton of Sikeston, Missouri, and Mona (Elgin) Travis of Sikeston, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Linda) Summers of Gleason, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Summers; one son-in-law, Roger Lofton; three sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm at Ponder Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at the Summers Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Earon McGhee, Larry Lofton, Billy Lofton, Adam Lofton, Justin Keller, Kenneth Travis, Aaron Johnson, and Elgin Travis.
