Brenda LaVaughn Cook Riley, age 72, passed away December 14, 2023 at Delta South Nursing Care & Rehabilitation in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born July 1, 1951 in Benton, Missouri, daughter of the late Cleve Cook and Thelma Vaughn Cook.

Brenda grew up in Oran, Missouri. She was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for Heartland Office Supply before retiring.

On August 14, 1993 in Sikeston, Missouri, she married Gary Riley, he survives of the home in Sikeston, Missouri.

Other survivors include her three children, Kristi Merideth, Patrick Riley, and Taryn Glathar; one brother, Vincent Cook; one sister, Shelia Lee; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Macey, Coen, Mac, and Jacob.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Matt Garner, Ryan Glathar, Robert Cook, Barry Cook, Zach Brimer, and Mike Todt.
