Obituary

Bobby Frank Reed Sr., age 91, passed away December 31, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born June 17, 1933, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, son of the late Frank and Inez Schaffer Reed.

Bobby was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, MO. He served in the US Army for 2 years. He worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO. He worked on the final assembly of aircrafts and did that for 33 years before retirement. He started a Little League for girls and boys in Orchard Farm, MO. Assisted with the Royal Rangers at Northwest Assembly of God church in Maryland Heights, MO. He worked in the over 60s' club at the Saint Charles and Sikeston, MO First Assembly of God Churches. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, and throwing softballs with his kids. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He married his wife Cornelia Bolin Reed in 1954, they were married 63 years before her passing in 2017.

Other survivors include one son, Bobby Frank (Sharron) Reed Jr. of Bolivar, MO; two daughters, Tonya (Brian) Atchison of Jackson, MO and Melissa (James) Dowdy of Mexico, MO; two sisters, Joan Clover of Truman, AR and Jean Jones of Newport, AR; four grandchildren Casie Atchison, Bobby Dowdy, Bradly (Jennifer) Reed, and Ryan Reed; and two great grandchildren, Jacob Davis and Zoey Reed.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bobby is preceded in death by one grandson, Bobby Frank Reed III; one great grandson Benjamin Reed, and two brothers-in-law, Clifford Clover and Ralph Jones.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 7, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at noon at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Dowdy, Ryan Reed, Tony Jones, Chris Faulkner, Mike Bundy, and Dave Bundy.
