Billy Ray Lewis, age 83, of East Prairie, Missouri passed away November 20, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born in Sikeston, Missouri on March 22, 1940, to the late Raymond and Aurelius Knight Lewis.

On November 23, 1979 he was married to Helen Louise Wilson Lewis, who survives.

Billy owned and operated Lewis Oil Company, running the Mobile Stations in East Prairie for many years including the soda shack. He then started driving a truck for Farm Products in East Prairie before retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed traveling, eating good food, the holidays, and spending time with all his friends, and family. He was also a proud United States Navy Veteran, and will be honored with full military honors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jeremy (Katina) Lewis of East Prairie; one stepdaughter, Rhonda (William) Brack of East Prairie; one sister, Lou Wright of Kirkwood, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Story, Olivia Smith Luder, Jonathan Brack, Pat Strayhorn, Shawndale Williams, Kayleigh Lewis, and Trevor Lewis; and four great-grandchildren, Kendriya Story, Jersee Story, Wade Brack, and Delaney Brack.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Wayne Smith; one brother George Lewis; and one sister, Betty Crosier.

Visitation will be at Shelby Funeral Home, Monday November 27, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.

Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.
