Billy Joe Griggs, age 63, a resident of Anniston, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.  He was born October 20, 1958, in Kentucky, to the late Brooks Griggs and Azlee Blasingain-Griggs. He was a carpenter and of Pentecostal faith.  His hobbies included playing his guitar and singing, playing dice, traveling and camping, and enjoying the outdoors by taking care of his lawn.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was married to Rebecca Nelson Griggs, who survives of the home.

Billy is also survived by four sons, Christopher Rice (Trista)of Anniston, Missouri, Joshua Nelson (Stephanie) of Benton, Missouri, Ryan Rice (Kelsey) of East Prairie and Dylan Rice (Katie) of Park Hills, Missouri; four brothers, Brooks Lee Griggs Sr.(Kay) of Tennessee, Stanley Griggs Sr.(Ginger) of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Clifford Griggs Sr. of East Prairie and Jimmy Griggs (Tammy); two sisters, Ruby Mast (Jim) of Arkansas and Martha True of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David Griggs, Rodger Griggs and Mitchell Griggs; and two sisters, Betty Green and Catherine Clemons.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Jimmy Griggs officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Rice, Ryan Rice, Chris Boulton, Clifford Griggs Sr., Lee Griggs Sr. and Stanley Griggs Sr.
