Billy J. Baker, 80, passed away, July 14, 2021, at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was born on August 7, 1940, in Bell City, Missouri, to the late John Baker and Gladys Lingle Baker. Billy served in the United States Army as a paratrooper before receiving an honorable discharge.

On August 17, 1958, he married Doris Daniels Baker, who survives of the home. He was a self-employed contractor building houses until he retired.

He is survived by two sons, Scott (Alice) Baker and Randy (Felicia) Baker both of Sikeston; one sister Wilma Pennington of Puxico, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Bethany McDermott, Jarrod Baker, Heath Hammon, Holly Groves, Amy Raines, and Kayla Gearhardt; and nine great grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by two children, Donna Gearhardt and David Baker; one grandchild Josh Gearhardt; one great grandchild Everett Wayne Horton; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow immediately at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Griswell, Bobby Griswell, Wendell Griswell, Jason Groves, James Buckley, and Jarrod Baker.
