Obituary

Beverly Ann White, age 73, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.

She was born December 21, 1951, in Benton, Kentucky, to the late Joseph Milburn Green and Lillian Mattie Thweatt Green.

Beverly was dedicated to education at an early age, graduating from South Marshall High School in Kentucky at the age of 16, and later graduating from Murray State University at the age of 20, at which time she began her 36-year career as a teacher.  She first taught in Marshall County, Kentucky, until moving with her husband to East Prairie, Missouri, where she taught in the East Prairie School system until her retirement in 2009.  Beverly was also owner/operator of Paul's Christian Bookstore in Sikeston, Missouri from 1998-2016.  As a child she grew up on the family farm, during which time she developed a love of the outdoors and gardening.  While indoors she acquired a love of cooking by learning from her grandmother, making many recipes that brought family together for joyous times throughout the years, and left memories that will now last forever.  Beverly's most fulfilling job was simply being "Nonnie".  Becoming a pastor's wife was something she was very proud of, as she firmly believed God led her to take on this role in life.  Beverly was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of East Prairie, where she participated in choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and served on various committees, as well as gladly taking on the responsibilities of being a pastor's wife.

Beverly was united in marriage to George G. White on September 2, 1972, in Benton, Kentucky; he survives of the home in East Prairie.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Josh (Julie) White of Valmeyer, Illinois and Joseph Bock (Laura Beth) White of Bernie, Missouri; one daughter, Shaelynn (Nick) Nordwald of East Prairie; one sister, Phyllis Smith of Benton, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren, Alexa (Ethan), Connor (Anna), Mattie, Emma, Rhylee, Caleb, Ava, Ansley, Carson, Aubree Grace, Gabe, Skylar Kate, Tate, and Lily Grace; and four great grandchildren, Emmettt, Samuel, Roy, and Ruth.

Besides her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Green.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of East Prairie.
