Obituary

Betty Lou Moore, 92, of Matthews, passed away, Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born December 2, 1928 in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Albert J. Holland and Nellie Mabel O'Dell Holland.

On March 26, 1947 in New Madrid, she married Paul Moore, who survives of the home.  She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Member Crowe Congressional Church.  She had been a member of the American Legion Post #595 Auxiliary where she served in many positions; she had also served many hours as a volunteer at the Sell's Nursing Home in Matthews, Missouri.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Douglas (Emily) Moore of Sikeston, and Doyle (Rhoda) Moore of Symsonia, Kentucky; one daughter Diane Moore of Summerville, South Carolina; one brother Robert (Bob) Holland of Peking, Illinois; and one step sister Elsie Perry; seven grandchildren, Julie (Bobby) Aycock, Chad Causey, Tim (Leslie) Moore, Carmen (Gene) Rogers, Daniel Moore, Neal (Tara) Brothers, and Joey (Allison) Causey; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son David Moore, and one brother J.P. Holland.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, and funeral services will be Friday, May 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Minister Kevin Mills Officiating.

Interment will follow immediately at the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Tim Moore, Daniel Moore, Neal Brothers, Ethan Moore, Taylor Moore, and Cooper Towe.
