Obituary

Betty Maxine Brooks-Hartlein, age 60 of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away October 4, 2023.

She was born November 25, 1962 in Sikeston, Missouri, daughter of the late Ricky Brooks and Geneva Maxine Moore-Brooks.

Betty was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church and a member of Scott County Rural Fire Protection District.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

On September 22, 1979 at Matthews, Missouri she married Jeff Hartlein, he survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Ethan Hartlein of Oran, Missouri and Nathan Hartlein of Oran, Missouri; four daughters, Dymisha (Bill) Cappel of Marshfield, Missouri, Amanda (Jack) Groves of Scott City, Missouri, Andrea (Tim) Jones of Marshfield, Missouri, and Bella Hartlein of Sikeston, Missouri; one brother, Ray (Tammy) Givens of Elkland, Missouri; one sister, Rineva (Jerry Taylor) Brewer of Dogwood, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Anderson Moore and Maxine Prince; and one sister, Terry Lynn Brooks.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 14, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home. John Archie will officiate.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park in East Prairie, Missouri.
