Obituary

Betty Sue Cole, age 90, passed away October 20, 2022 at Delta South Nursing Care in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born December 8, 1931 in Charleston, Missouri, daughter of the late Claude Ramsey Walton and Betty Shelby-Walton.

Betty worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company before retiring. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church, active in Telephone Pioneers, and had been a Pink Lady at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

On August 29, 1951 she married Bill Cole, he preceded her in death on September 16, 2001.

She is survived by one son, Terry (Cindy) Cole of Sikeston; two daughters, Teresa (Phil) DeWitt of Sikeston and Janet (Robert) Lashmet of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren John(Alison) Lashmet, Teresa Cohen(Travis), Sean(Christina) Lashmet, Heather(Brandon) Couch, Leanna(Joel) Kinder and Coley(Kendra) DeWitt.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded by one son; three brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25, from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Bro. Ron Schrum and Bro. Mitch Jackson of Miner Baptist will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lashmet, Sean Lashmet, Coley DeWitt, Joel Kinder, Brandon Couch, Travis Burger.

Honorary pallbearers will be her 12 Great Grandchildren; Christopher Cohen, Nicholas Cohen, Zane Davis, Noah Burger, Jackson Lashmet, Caroline Lashmet, Harper Lashmet, Milo Kinder, Sofia Couch, Will Kinder, Sumner DeWitt and Shiloh DeWitt
