Beth Mayfield-Tidwell, age 74, passed away August 3, 2022 at her home in

Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born May 11, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, daughter of the late Loomis F. Mayfield, Jr. and Marcella Jean Rauth-Mayfield.

She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a 1966 graduate of Sikeston High School. She was a nurturing wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and sister.  She enjoyed sewing and cooking and she adored her only grandson.

She was married to Phil Tidwell, he survives of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors include one son, Phillip Harris (Wendy) Tidwell of Sikeston; one brother, Loomis F. Mayfield, III of Seattle, Washington; six sisters, Mary Austin (Dan) Seyer of Cape Girardeau, Sandra Sharp of Kansas City, Missouri, Suzanne (Doug) Shaw of Sikeston, Barbara Morris of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Christina (Stephen) Taylor of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Gloria Holland of Charleston, South Carolina; one grandson, Nicholas Tidwell of Sikeston; and one sister-in-law, Cindy Vowels Malcolm of Wichita, Kansas.

In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Beth Tidwell; one brother, Edward Lynn Mayfield; and two brothers-in-law, Jay Holland and William Sharp.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Mass immediately following. Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
