Bessie Kirk, age 97, passed away on October 8, 2021, in Dexter, Missouri. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Bessie is survived by a large family including anyone who she ever met. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family—not out of obligation but because of who she was. She never met a stranger and spent her life taking care of others. A stronger person would be hard to find. Bessie was an avid reader and always had a book in had and was a master at word searches. She will be dearly missed, forever love.

Bessie was preceded in death by her spouse, Samuel 'Bo' Kirk; two children, Gayla Warren and Ronnie Kirk; and two grandchildren, Larry Hunt and Mendy Goldey.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 14, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Graveside services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
