Obituary

Barbara Jean "Bobby" Wicker, age 96, of East Prairie, MO, formerly of Anniston, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born April 21, 1929, in Anniston, to the late Charles Andy Calhoon and Hattie Mae Thurman Calhoon.  Barbara was employed at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston, MO, for several years, and was also a hairdresser.  She later obtained her LPN license, and was employed by Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO, until her retirement. Barbara was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.  She enjoyed embroidery as well as making quilts for her family members.  She was an avid basketball fan and her favorite team was the Lakers.

Barbara was first married to Herman Davis Morris, who preceded her in death.

She later married Willie "Bill" Lynzie Wicker, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Willie Lindsey Wicker (Jana) of East Prairie and Larry "Frankie" Wicker (Melinda) of Sikeston, MO; three daughters, Sandra Kay Woodruff (Tommy) of Bardwell, KY, Billie Davis Morris of Sikeston, MO, and Darla Jean Ray of Festus, MO; and one sister, Mary Halene DeLeon of East Prairie.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Thurman Wicker, Tommy Woodruff, Mary Kay Woodruff, Brent Munson, Shaun Ray, Chad Ray, Ashley Lloyd, Lindsey Foote, Shane Wicker, Adam Wicker, and Sarah Miller; along with 26 great grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Barbara was preceded in death by two daughters, Alma Grace Wicker and Janet Halene Lambert; three brothers, Charles Golder "Bud" Calhoon, Thurman Andy Calhoon, and her twin, Billy Houston Calhoon; three sisters, Bertie Colene Oliver, Grace Unita Sanders, and Frances Nadine Houser; and one son-in-law, Jerry Ray.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Barbara's special friend and caretaker for over 25 years, Teresa Johnson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, beginning at 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with pastor Martin Lucas officiating.

Interment will follow in Anniston Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Ray, Chad Ray, Brent Munson, Thurman Wicker, Shane Wicker, and Adam Wicker.  Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Wayne Thurman.
