Barbara Murray , age 79, passed away on October 10, 2025, at her home in Battlefield, Missouri.

She was born on December 12, 1945, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Lonzo and Mary Etta Stoval Murphy.

In 1966, she married Larry Murray , and together they shared 59 wonderful years. He survives of the home.

Barbara lived in Sikeston for most of her life and was raised in the Tanner Street Church of God. For the past 10 years, she and her husband made their home in Springfield, Missouri. She was a 1963 graduate of Matthews High School. Barbara worked as both a hairstylist and a realtor for many years, but her favorite role was that of a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by two sons, Kevin (Lori) Murray of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Alan Murray of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Jerry (Jenny) Murphy of Milton, Florida, and Larry (Sue) Murphy of Paducah, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Shelby) Murray, Austin (Morgan) Murray, Ryan Murray, Andrew Murray, Connor Murray, Megan Churchill, and Trinity (Lizzie) Thomas ; and four great-grandchildren, Lakelynn Murray, Waylon Murray, Miley Murray, and Levi Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Eugene, Clifford, Doyle, and Clarence Murphy ; and three sisters, Lucille Mills, Virginia Wall, and Pat Meeks.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with her brother, Larry Murphy , officiating.

Pallbearers: Brandon Murray, Austin Murray, Ryan Murray, Conner Murray, Eric Cook, and Stan Cook.
