Anthony 'Tony-Bologna-Macaroni' Wayne Northern, age 70, passed away March 13, 2026 at his home in Sikeston, MO.

He was born February 26, 1956 in Sikeston, MO, son of the late Roy Northern and Nora Moss-Northern.

Tony worked at Amco Machine and Fabrication from 1991 until 2015. His connection to the Miner Fire Department began early, he started going there when he was just five years old because his father was the chief, and he officially joined the department in 1970. Tony remained on the department's roll throughout his life and was considered an active firefighter. He also faithfully served as the Miner Fire Department Chaplain.

Tony was an active member of Smith Avenue Church, where he helped in many ways, including custodial work, kitchen duties, and youth ministry. In his free time, he enjoyed drawing and especially loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren meant the world to him and were truly the twinkle in his eyes.

On November 29, 1991 he married Nancy O'Neal-Northern, she survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.

Other survivors include one son, Eric Northern of Mountain View, MO; one daughter, Heather Northern (Demetrish Williams) of Oran, MO; three sisters, JoAnn Northern of Dexter, MO, Paula Shaver of Miner, MO, and Tammie (Dave) Bennett of Cameron, NC; his grandchildren, Bralynn Morgan, Milie McClendon, Devonta Williams, Charlee Northern, Ellee Northern, and one on the way, Demetria Williams; and many family members and fire department family members who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home with funeral services to be held on Thursday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. Mike Mahurin and Ira Sanderfur will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Dover, Daniel Gilmore, Keith Northern, Jeremy Northern, Dustin Northern, and Chris Northern.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Northern and Wesley Orlovski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ponder Funeral Home for his funeral services.
