Amanda Rose Allen, age 76, passed away September 17, 2023 at her home in Charleston, Missouri.

She was born December 4, 1946 in Shelby County, Illinois, daughter of the late Joseph Wheeler Hill and Alta Laverta Smith Hill.

Amanda was of the Pentecostal faith and had worked as support staff for Crossroads ISL until ill health forced her retirement in 2010. She loved caring for her clients, crafting, sewing, and especially loved her little dog, Vestal.

On June 2, 1964 in Shelby County, Illinois, she married Evert Wayne Allen, he preceded her in death September 18, 2020.

Survivors include one son, Evert Christopher (Linda) Allen of Farmington, Kentucky; and two daughters, Ruth Florette Babb of Charleston, Missouri and Dorothy Lorene (Chuck) Hodge of Effingham, Illinois.

In addition to her husband and parents, Amanda was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Sampson Goff; and one sister, Cynthia Jo Goff-Miller.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home.
