Alice Elizabeth Tharp, age 87, passed away April 5, 2024 at Missouri Delta Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born August 27, 1936 in Wyatt, Missouri, daughter of the late Yeura and Sally Forrester Elrod.

Alice was a loving mother and grandmother. She helped to raise her grandchildren that called her "Momaw". She loved staying at home, spending time with her family, watching western movies & reading books. She was an avid bird watcher, she loved hummingbirds but cardinals were her favorite. She loved flowers & red roses were her favorite. Other than her selfless love for others, she loved crafts. She was known for her handmade Christmas ornamnets which has brought endless joy for over 40 years. She enjoyed making needlework pictures & crocheting afghans also, making sure everyone in the family had one.

She is survived by one brother, Charles (Beverly) Elrod of Oklahoma; one son, James (Carla) Elrod of Blodgett, MO; four grandchildren, Christy (Stan) Parham, Erica (Chad) Fetters, Roy (Bobbie) Holland, and Troy Holland; Six great-grandchildren Kobe Hutcheson, Kylie Hutcheson, Madison Fetters, Garrett Fetters, John Asher Kennard, and Luke Holland; and one great-great grandchild Rylan Couch.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister, Karen Kolwyck and one daughter, Shirley Jean Tannahill and husband, John Tharp.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Jennifer Moxley will officiate.

Interment will be at Dogwood Cemetery and Chandler Landis will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Richard Kolwyck, Michael Kolwyck, Chad Fetters, Stan Parham, Kobe Hutcheson, and Garrett Fetters.
